About us
With a lifetime of experience with the breed, Shadowbrook Shepherds strives to produce puppies of exceptional quality for pet, work and show, with occasional breeding quality puppies available to approved breeding homes. We are proud to be members of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, and closely follow their standards for ethical, responsible breeding. Our AKC registered dogs come from exceptional German lines, and we follow a very selective breeding program that emphasizes health, conformation, and temperament to ensure that our puppies excel as cherished family pets, family protectors, working and show dogs. We produce six to eight litters each year, and strive to improve our lines with each litter. We are active with our dogs, and plan to participate in both conformation and agility in the next few years. We take a great deal of pride and care in ensuring that our puppies have a healthy, loving environment in an attempt to rear well socialized pups.
.
The health and well-being of our dogs is very important to us. Our dogs are regularly examined and vaccinated by our veterinarian, have been OFA hip screened and show no signs of hereditary disorders. Puppies are vet-checked, vaccinated, and de-wormed before they are placed with their new families. We firmly stand behind the health and temperament of our dogs, and offer a comprehensive health guarantee as detailed at the time of sale. As responsible breeders, we strongly recommend that all "pet-quality" puppies be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age. This helps us to do our part against the growing number of unwanted dogs in shelters and rescue, and to prevent irresponsible breeding practices.
We are very proud of both the quality our dogs, and the quality of the homes into which they are placed. We place our pups only with loving, caring families that have been educated about all aspects of the breed. Potential buyers must be willing to train and take responsibility for their puppy, and have a clean, happy, healthy and permanent home. All family members must be in agreement about the decision to adopt a puppy. Above all, the puppy must be a part of the family and be treated accordingly..
We're happy to provide any advice and support that may be needed as you adjust to life with your new family member, and we enjoy staying in touch with our pups and their new families. For more about us and our German Shepherds, go to our page entitiled "ABOUT US!"
